We will never truly understand the memory of war in places where entire families were racked by nightmares through the years: returned soldiers, their wives, their kids, their parents, all jerking awake to overwhelming fears of an impending firebombing?..
Remembering the bombing at Hiroshima and Nagasaki, the lives lost, the pain incurred-I use abstraction juxtaposing the horrific picture captured of the bomb with a skeleton and contrasting imagery of the colors and vibrant culture of the Japanese.
