What does an object have to say about culture through the times? What are the ways people interact with it? Do objects have stories? Can their use and perception differ across space and time?
The Lipstick of Ancient China & Carried Away : Lipstick in the 60's; Framed.
The exploration with hybrid imagery through the lens of lipsticks through the eras is what fuelled the creation of these images. I tried to crossover Cleopatra as the ancient beauty guru to Kylie Jenner, the lipstick guru of our times. The idea that Cleopatra travels through time to meet Kylie Jenner in New York City, as they travel through time and space to understand the complexities of the culture of lipstick and makeup.
